different daily newspaper in British

British newspapers a wide range of newspapers in various fields have also local communities, and even different races have their own newspapers. But the British newspaper is now the main issue: The Independent , Guardian , Daily Telegraph, The Times, the Financial Times . Daily Express , The Daily Mail, The Evening Standard , Metropolitan , Sun , Daily Mirror and so on. Is the UK's leading national newspaper "The Guardian", "The Times" and "Independent." Britain's largest-circulation tabloid newspapers, mainly the "Sun" and "Daily Mirror." There is also a newspaper must not be left out of the way, that is, "every day horses" (Racing Post), which is a document containing all the information the British daily horse racing. With the rapid growth in the UK the number of Chinese, Chinese-language newspapers also began to have growth momentum, from the original only the "Sing Tao Daily," dominated the European version of the British Chinese community, and today there are nearly dozens of newspapers. The major ones are "China Daily", "UK Times", "European Overseas News", "UK Business", and "News" and so on.
"The Times" (The Times) is the United Kingdom issued a comprehensive national daily newspaper, is a whole world of politics, economy, culture plays a tremendous impact on the newspaper. "Daily Mirror" is a strong supporter of the Labour Party. But if you just look at newspaper reports, you will wonder the newspaper is not currently the biggest opponents of the ruling Labour Party? Author in the United Kingdom, found that the newspaper not only in health, education, welfare and other issues often criticize the government, some major issues on which the Labour Party opposing views. The most typical example is the war in Iraq. Blair led Labour government to actively follow the U.S. war against Iraq, and the "Daily Mirror" is holding strong opposition. The newspaper reported on not only in the United States Government and the British government's Iraq policy vocal opposition, but also take practical actions to support anti-war activities.

The Prince Charles. Prince of wales

The Prince Charles, Prince of Wales
He is the heir apparent and eldest son of Queen Elizabeth II. Since 1958, his major title has been HRH The Prince of Wales. In Scotland he is known as The Duke of Rothesay.
Charles was educated at Cheam and Gordonstoun Schools, which his father, Prince Philip, Duke of Edinburgh, had attended as a child. After earning a bachelor of arts degree from Trinity College, Cambridge, Charles served a tour of duty with the Royal Navy in 1971–76. He married Lady Diana Spencer before an enormous worldwide television audience in 1981. They had two children, Prince William of Wales in 1982 and Prince Harry of Wales in 1984. The couple separated in 1992 following tabloid allegations concerning their relationship. They divorced in 1996 after Diana publicly accused the prince of having an affair with Camilla Parker Bowles, and Charles admitted adultery on television. Diana died in a car crash in Paris on 31 August 1997. In 2005, after a lengthy continued association, the Prince married Camilla, who uses the title Duchess of Cornwall.
The prince is well-known for his charity work and sponsors The Prince's Trust, The Prince's Regeneration Trust, and the Prince's Foundation for the Built Environment, among other charities. He has been outspoken concerning architecture and the conservation of old buildings and has produced a book on the subject called A Vision of Britain (1989). He has also promoted herbal and other alternative medical treatment.

Charles was created Prince of Wales and Earl of Chester on 26 July 1958, though his investiture as such was not conducted until 1 July 1969, wherein he was crowned by his mother in a televised ceremony held at Caernarfon Castle, and gave his replies and speech in both Welsh and English. The following year he took his seat in the House of Lords, and later in the decade became the first member of the Royal Family since King George I to attend a British Cabinet meeting, having been invited by Prime Minister James Callaghan so that the Prince might see the workings of the British government and Cabinet at first hand. Charles also began to take on more public duties, founding his The Prince's Trust in 1976,and travelling to the United States in 1981.
Around the same time, the Prince expressed an interest in serving as Governor-General of Australia; Commander Michael Parker explained: "The idea behind the appointment was for him to put a foot on the ladder of monarchy, or being the future King and start learning the trade." However, because of a combination of nationalist feeling in Australia and the dismissal of the government by the Governor-General in 1975, nothing came of the proposal. Charles accepted the decision of the Australian ministers, if not without some regret; he reportedly stated: "What are you supposed to think when you are prepared to do something to help and you are told you are not wanted?"Conversely, Tom Gallagher wrote that Charles had been offered the Romanian throne by monarchists in that country; an offer that was reportedly turned down.
The Prince is at present the oldest man to hold the title of Prince of Wales since it became the title granted to the heir apparent. He is also the oldest heir apparent in Commonwealth realms' history, the second longest serving heir apparent, behind only Edward VII, and the third longest serving Prince of Wales in British history behind Edward VII and George IV, whom he will pass on 9 September 2017 if he is still Prince of Wales on that date. If he ascends to the throne after 18 September 2013, Charles would be the oldest monarch of the United Kingdom to do so; only William IV was older when he became monarch than Charles is now.

the different between west and east education

as a oversea student I want to say something about the different between West and East education.I am a student from China and now I am study in UK.So I will compare the two coutries.
First. Sense of equality and hierarchy. Westerners, a strong sense of equality, whether rich or poor, everyone will respect themselves and not allow others to infringe upon their rights. At the same time, everyone can fully respect others. In the United States, few people in their own pride in a prominent family background, but also very few people came with their own poor ashamed of, because they know that, as long as our own efforts, there will certainly be able to achieve success. As the United States a popular proverb says: "if they work hard, denim can be president." (If working hard, even a cowboy can be president.) Although the establishment of New China for nearly six decades, but the traditional ruler and subject, father and son the sense of hierarchy in China, is still deeply rooted in people's minds. Father in his son's eyes, the eyes of teachers, students have the absolute authority of the family background in human development still plays a very important role.
Then nuclear family with four generations living under one roof. American family structure is relatively simple: parents and minor children, called nuclear families. Once the children get married, you have to move away from the economy also must be independent. Parents are no longer obliged to support their children. This approach to young people to provide maximum freedom and develop their ability to live independently, but also alienated the family relationship. Chinese-style family structure more complex, the traditional family is four generations living under one roof well-being. In such families, the elderly to help look after children, children and grandchildren grow up to help maintain the elderly, family members rely on each other and help each other, closer kinship ties. However, this lifestyle is not conducive to nurturing young people's independence.

Frankly admitted that the British Parliament took the lead within the existing political parties in Parliament, and by each party to hold the number of seats assigned its constitutional functions. Access to civilians, the majority of seats in homes that come forward to form a government of political parties, the exercise of executive power, but also access to the civilian hospital organizations, the legislative work and other work privileges. Court times obtain the majority of seats in the civilian political parties that led the opposition to be a grand, get organized in consultation with the majority party agenda for the privilege of civilian homes, and the right to represent the opposition parties should debate the Government's motion, declarations, etc., are also entitled to a separate part of the arrangements civilian hospital time, motion, and the civilian leadership of the Ad Hoc Committee on a number of key hospital. Seats than the opposition parties led by the opposition parties also enjoy a number of other rights. By the majority party - the opposition between models, the British Parliament by Members of the pursuit of fame, so that they bear the corresponding relationship between their political parties, constitutional duty, to break the period of the previous party system of government - parliament against the relationship, and instead form a majority party, the government - the opposition against the relationship, the political situation and the constitutional role of cross-up. Reference to the British system of melting right parliamentary majority also cited the country's first majority party in the UK - the opposition system.

Gunpowder Plot

The Gunpowder Plot of 1605, in earlier centuries often called the Gunpowder Treason Plot, was a failed assassination attempt against King James I of England and VI of Scotland by a group of provincial English Catholics led by Sir Robert Catesby.
In January 1606, during the first sitting of Parliament since the plot, the Observance of 5th November Act 1605 was passed, making services and sermons commemorating the event an annual feature of English life;the act remained in force until 1859. The tradition of marking the day with the ringing of church bells and bonfires started soon after the Plot's discovery, and fireworks were included in some of the earliest celebrations. In Britain, the 5th of November is variously called Bonfire Night, Fireworks Night, or Guy Fawkes Night.
It remains the custom in Britain, on or around 5 November, to let off fireworks. Traditionally, in the weeks running up to the 5th, children made "guys" – effigies supposedly of Fawkes – usually made from old clothes stuffed with newspaper, and fitted with a grotesque mask, to be burnt on the 5 November bonfire. These guys were exhibited in the street to collect money for fireworks, although this custom has become less common. The word guy thus came in the 19th century to mean an oddly dressed person, and hence in the 20th and 21st centuries to mean any male person.
November the 5th firework displays and bonfire parties are common throughout Britain, in major public displays and in private gardens. In some areas, particularly in Sussex, there are extensive processions, large bonfires and firework displays organised by local bonfire societies, the most elaborate of which take place in Lewes.
According to the biographer Esther Forbes, the Guy Fawkes Day celebration in the pre-revolutionary American colonies was a very popular holiday. In Boston, the revelry took on anti-authoritarian overtones, and often became so dangerous that many would not venture out of their homes.
